My Exercise Must Haves

Well hello there my little lovelies!

As I’m back from my hols and back in work mode, I thought I would treat you to a hopefully inspiring post this Autumnal Monday to get your exercise juices flowing; my exercise MUST HAVES!

This post is only intended as advice and not something you have to stick by. I just find that all these things help me when exercising or going to the gym and make it more bearable and fun! 😀

  1. A GOOD sports bra!– This trumps everything else put together because it means you can run faster without hurting yourself and giving yourself black eyes! I got mine from Sports Direct and have linked for you to grab one! It also helps avoid achy boobs from high impact exercises.

2. Some empowering music on your MP3 player– I love this because it makes me feel like I can do anything. My fave song at the minute is Trouble by Jennifer Hudson and Iggy Azalea; makes me feel like I own it at the gym!

3. Bottle of water-pop tops are easier to use when you need a drink in the middle of a cardio exercise and can’t use both hands (this is super hard to do while on a cross trainer, believe me!).

4. Towel to wipe your sweat from your brow and off all the equipment you use- It’s nice to be hygienic and you wouldn’t want to get on that sweat ridden bike you just witnessed the guy with the low hanging fruit hop off of now would you? Eurgh!

5. Comfy trainers that will last a while.-

I got a pair of Karrimor trainers from Sports Direct when they were on sale and they are fab! These are the ones I have and they have little holes that get air to your feet too.

6. Bobbles/Scrunchies to tie your hair up– My mum has borrowed bobbles off me a few times if she has forgotten hers so I always keep a spare just in case.

7. Face wipes to take your makeup off– Sometimes I just leave it on if I don’t have a lot on but believe me, liquid eyeliner is the devil if you sweat. Get it in your eyes and you are done for!So just to be safe, wipe your makeup off before exercising.

8. A Trolley Dolly/A spare £1 for gym goers for lockers– This only applies if you use a gym but is more valuable than real money. Trolley dollies are the best thing ever!

9. Nice Breathable/Comfy clothing

I have a go to pair of lycra cut-offs and vest top as I get too hot with a big t-shirt on most of the time. However, if you’re not planning on running for your life and doing easier cardio, then a loose baggy top will be more comfortable to wear. I tend to get my sports wear from Sports Direct as its cheap and cheerful for exercising.I like lycra as it allows my legs to move more freely when jogging.:)

10. Positive Mental Attitude!– This is on a level par with the importance of your sports bra; without this it makes it a lot harder to focus. We all have those days where we really can’t be bothered and just want to go straight home but it’s THOSE DAYS when you have to push yourself to exercise. Big yourself up in your head if you feel fed up and tell yourself that you will feel so much better if you sweat it out a bit. You can do this, no matter how slow or fast you go, you are doing  a lot more than those laid on the sofa!

Those are my exercise must haves to cover all bases when exercising.Let me know if you think of any others I’ve missed off!

Speak soon lovelies! It’s good to be back! 😉

Weigh Day Wednesday 9/9/15

Good Morning lovelies! How are you all? Are you super good and happy or are you a bit miserable because the weather (in the UK at least) has taken a turn for the worse and has gone a bit…meh.

I must admit I am finding those mornings harder to get out of bed as it’s getting darker. I don’t like it! Where has the summer gone?!

Anyway, onto this week’s progress. I started out putting it all in My Fitness Pal and was doing really well; even when my colleague brought me this beautiful slice of cake in that she had made just for me…

…it was as tasty as it looks! I put it all in My Fitness Pal app as I said I wasn’t going to lie to myself this week.

Then it was my mum’s birthday and so the obligatory piece of birthday cake was had at her house (it was like a door wedge in size!). I tried to keep my snacking to a minimum or at least reaching for healthy things. However, because we were running all over on Saturday getting last-minute holiday things, I seemed to grab quick things that involved bread. I had a breakfast sandwich at home (2 slices of bread), then a sweet chilli chicken sandwich from Asda ( 2 more slices of bread) and then made a curry Saturday night (1 massive naan to myself)… you get the picture. I felt stodged from carb overload.

Apart from those hiccups, I have been really good and exercised 4 days this past week. I still felt bloated (think my lady time may be due) and was not looking forward to getting on those scales.

I’m glad I did because I lost…2lb this week! Wahoooo!

What are the chances I’ll make it to 13 stone 6 3/4  by next Wednesday to get my 8.5 stone? I would have to lose 4lb in a week, which has happened in the past but I’m not even going to try and do that because I’ll be more annoyed if I don’t. So next week I’m just going to hope for another loss of any amount and see how I get on.

I will make myself continue to put it all in My Fitness Pal and see if I can make it to a full week of jotting it down this time!

How are your weight loss journeys going? Have you discovered a better way of living healthy? Do you obsess about certain things like I do? (I know it’s not healthy to obsess) Have you fallen off track and are trying to get back on it?

Let me know in the comments and hopefully we can all encourage each other to appreciate ourselves a little bit more and not be too hard on ourselves, whilst trying to live a healthier and happier life.

Speak soon lovelies!

Weigh Day Wednesday 2/9/15 (update)

Hi guys!

Firstly apologies on the quietness of my blog.I have still been updating my social media so make sure you follow me there for the most up to date weight loss info and every day stuff like what I’m having for lunch lol.

Last week I lost 3/4 of a lb and this week I have maintained so I am writing it all down for a week to see how I go.

I currently weigh…

The reason I have been slightly out of action is because I’ve been busy getting excited for my holiday in a few weeks (going to Sharm El Sheikh) and also getting serious with my driving lessons as I’m not far away from passing now.

Its all happening in Slimming It My Way world haha.

I have really slowed down with my weight loss now and am wishing I had taken my measurements regularly so I had something else to use as a progress marker. Not to worry though! One thing that does keep freaking me out is that I keep coming across body parts that seem unnatural (because I’ve never felt them before).

Today I found I had a weird bone/muscle (I really can’t tell) on either side of my stomach. Its not my hips as its too high but I have no idea what it is!Might have to ask Lee to prod and tell me whether it’s normal:I think it’s muscle but am not sure!

I am now a 14/16 and think I can safely say I am no longer an 18 (not that there’s anything wrong with that). I’m pretty happy with my size now although I’m still classed as plus sized.I’m not sure I’ll get much smaller than I am now just because I love my food too much!I am learning to accept my body and feel more comfortable now than I ever have. For the first time yesterday I tried on a colleague’s clothes (possibly to borrow for my holiday as I don’t have much) and they fit!Lee reminded me that I have never been able to borrow other people’s clothes before as I was always big.The feeling of being able to fit into a similar size to a colleague is a big thing for me because it’s a marker to set myself up against.I don’t mean comparing myself in a bad way but seeing how my body looks at the side of a slim build person.

I also bought a load of clothes for my holiday both from Matalan and from a local outlet called discount clothing company.Heres a peak!

I nearly didn’t post the last picture because there’s just so much on show in a bikini. But then I realised that I am the only person stopping me from being body confident so I thought sod it!

I deserve to feel body confident and this is the first time I have felt comfortable enough to wear a bikini and even more so to post a picture of it up in the Internet.

So that’s a little update for you all.Sorry I have been quiet but I promise I am still plodding away at this healthy business. My mum said that I was obsessed with exercise the other day which made me stop and think at first, but then I realised that it’s just a part of my routine now.Its just something I do like eat my breakfast,so that can only be a good thing right? I hope I’m not obsessed!

Anyway weight loss warriors from a smiley Tasha..

Enjoy the rest of your week and have a lovely weekend! ( pic taken last weekend, finally appreciating my figure) 🙂
